Scott
and Gay
Maddox
Pond in
Payson,
Illinois
on Route
96. 1.6 Acres This pond can be seen from the hilltop on Highway 96 coming from Quincy. We met Scott and Gay at our booth in the WGEM-TV Home & Living Show in Quincy in 2005. When Marsha and I went to see them, we noticed a pond from the hillside and I remember saying to her that we needed to stop and see those people before we left town. After looking for the Maddox address for a half-hour or so, darned if that wasn't the place we were looking for. The point being, if you neighbors in the Payson are are looking for and example of the benefits of aeration, here's one you don't have to get off the road to see. We equipped this 1.75-acre pond with an AIR-1XL system that is actually housed on the inside wall of their shop with an airline buried and extended through a tinhorn. At the same time the aerator system was installed, we added two quarts of DeepBlue™ P.S. (professional strength blue pond & lake colorant). Scott and Gay also faithfully added one-half pound of AquaTron™ each week throughout the growing season to speed up the digestion of excess nutrients previously feeding the algae and weeds that ruined its beauty. This is the e-mail we received from her January 11, 2006: Hi
